Post from Andy Lewis' Blog:
Will Obama snatch defeat from the jaws of victory?

I had a conversation with a representative of the Obama campaign a few minutes ago which left me horrified.

I asked why the Obama campaign wasn't fighting back in the face of all these despicible lies McCain was telling. I told her I thought that Obama was throwing this thing away. I was told that "we don't believe in fighting." I was told that "that's not the kind of change we believe in."

I hung up the phone feeling like I had just spoken with a couple of people who were disconnected from reality, and who had no idea what they were up against. I felt as if these people are in a bubble, surrounded by positive vibes, and that they have no clue about the fact that they're in a street fight. I'm very afraid that if this attitude pervades the campaing, that Obama doesn't have a chance.

Just wanted to share that with you.

Stop complaining

And that's why you get paid the big bucks! Listen, if you're that concerned about, stop bitching and start working! Im sick and tired of you whiners. Grow the fuck up and do something to help him, not push him down further.

These people are not in the bubble.. they're in DENVER! They know what they're doing. They're on the attack today with several new ads, hitting McCain on the economy, while surrogates are hitting him in poor judgement.

Like i said, stop complaining and help us win!

I AM working, you self-righteous, abusive asshole.

1) Why do you think I was talking to the Obama people in the first place?

2) You didn't address my point. If the campaign itself is unwilling to answer the lies perpetrated by the McCain machine, my work, and your work, will be for naught. Perhaps you didn't understand.

I object to both your presumption, and your tone.

Bob-

It is a matter of concern that Obama's campaign understand that Mc$ame's attack ads are effective in defining Obama.

As other political bloggers have noted that the summer is the time to define who your opponent is. By taking a week of vacation Obama has allowed a critical week to go by in which the campaign has had a very weak response to Mc$ame's ad blitz. This has to stop immediately.

Already we have seen the Zogby poll showing that Mc$ame's negative ad barrage working to define who Obama is.

Working for Obama is good but it is up to Obama to listen to the very real concerns of the grassroots because we want a candidate who is forceful and will "take a gun to a knife fight" because Mc$ame will utilize every dirty and unethical trick in the political play book to steal this election for conservative ideals that will complete the destruction of the American middle class and wreck the military by engaging it in endless wars.
