It made me think of yet another reason that I think we should be supporting Obama. I'm sorry to say I think Hillary's power would come from the 'politics as usual' scenario, or what you could call top down leadership. On the other hand, it seems to me Obama's power structure would be much more inclusive, bringing in dozens, maybe hundreds of determined people with fresh ideas. That's what we need, "People Power"!

Susan--if you have spent as much time living in Washington D.C. as I have--you'll realize that it is a magnamous labyrnth of federal employees. So, a dozen or even a few hundred new people will not make a dent. It will always be from the top down. That is it's inherent structure.

I do understand a certain amount of bureaucracy is inherent in any large system. But if I didn't believe individuals could foster change, I wouldn't bother to be involved in grassroots politics.

Neither Obama nor Hillary would be my first choice if I could have any president I wanted. But of the two, Obama is the one I think will do the best job. Your mileage, as they say, may vary. :)
