Post from Nelson's Blog:
DeGette: no public meetings

So I called Rep. DeGette's office the other day to ask when the Congresswoman would be holding public meetings while Congress is in recess until after Labor Day. The response: THERE ARE AND WILL BE NO PUBLIC MEETINGS. When I asked how this could be, I was told, "Her calendar is too backed up with other meeting requests" to hold even one public meeting in a month-long recess. What's up with that? Is Rep. DeGette afraid of public meetings? Or is this just one more indication that the government has become inaccessible to ordinary citizens? I think we should inundate her office asking for public meetings.

And not unexpected. She really doesn't like people.

Suspicious or Deplorable?
By Ralph T Aug 11th 2007 at 4:16 pm MDT
This situation seems to run the gamut from suspicion as to why some minimum number of public (constituent?) meetings were not scheduled ahead of time, to has it really gotten this bad that she can't/won't allow some of her time for the people of her District. I've done farely well in my personal and professional life by giving my priorities a fair share of my time. It seems that someone is getting a lot of attention from Representative DeGette, but it sure ain't those who elected her to office.

She is Terrified of the Impeachment question
By John H Kennedy Aug 12th 2007 at 5:22 am MDT
I think she and the rest of the Congressional Democrats are terrified of questions on Impeachment (and why they seem to have little effect on stopping much of anything Bush wants to do, like the War).

Failing to defend the Constitution and failing to make sure that Bush and Cheney and Gonzales are held to the same legal standard as the rest of us will haunt the Dems for years if they don't deal with it. This is going to be a big negative in the 2008 Election and DeGette knows it. If they could find the courage to deal with it Impeachment will turn out to be a big positive in 2008.

Ask her and every Congressman and Presidential Candidate hard questions about Impeachment. Don't let them duck it.

It is right in front of the Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News. Perhaps together we can show the corporate media Impeachment is still on the table.
