A coincidence? It seems like all of these "fear based" horrible events can be fixed by companies Cheney, Bush and others are involved in. So now they want to pass on 75% of the costs of buying flu remedies to the states, I suppose since any surpluses at the Federal level are gone. The problem is, most states are in financial turmoil and there are serious questions if the plan would even work. Perhaps we need a mutual fund called "Criminals in The Whitehouse Index Fund". We could index their investments and that way we could all be sure our investments are doing great. A few starters would be Gilead Sciences, Halliburton and Exxon. There are many more.

outbreak may be panicking people around the globe, but
it's proving to be very good news for Defense
Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and other politically
connected investors in Gilead Sciences, the California
biotech company that owns the rights to Tamiflu, the
influenza remedy that's now the most-sought after drug
in the world.

Bechtel?
By Mark Mehringer Nov 4th 2005 at 3:33 pm MST
I think Bechtel did well with this WH, too. Maybe we could just look at who previously employed the current Bush Administration officials. I'd be really curious how those companies did in the last 5 years.

WH fund done well in last year
By Mark Mehringer Nov 4th 2005 at 3:47 pm MST
In the last year, Halliburton's stock is up 70%, Exxon is up 18%, and gilead Sciences is up 34%. Bechtel is a private firm, but in 2003 it was reported to have grown revenues 40%, even as it reduced payrolls 6%.

That's quite a return for those companies.

Perhaps we should do this... Any stock guru's out there that can put this together?
