One of the easiest ways to be an activist everyday is to spend money on products and services that come from companies that practice a progressive business model. When a company incorporates environmentalism, equal employment rights, human rights around the world, and gives back to the community that sustains it, the economy is strengthened, our children are safer and our country is freer.
Historically a great source for information about a company's political practices has been BuyBlue.org. Once defunct, BuyBlue.org has found a new home in The Mile High City and is hiring!
BuyBlue.org is looking for a few part-time progressive-minded employees to research, rate, and report on large corporations and their political practices. Available are 2 positions for about 20 hours per week. You must live in the Denver area and bring your own laptop to the office.
About BuyBlue
BuyBlue functions as a resource for the conscientious consumer. The site is currently under re-construction but you can see what we have here.
The first incarnation of BuyBlue.org was tremendously successful receiving much mainstream media attention and garnering a large following in the netroots community. If you want to speak truth to power, work for increased corporate accountability, and get a jump on making a name for yourself in the netroots online activism community- then consider this a good omen.
Experience in any of the following is a plus:
Legal Research
Economics
Political Science
Journalism/Blogging
Progressive Activism/Organizing
Environmental Law
Labor Law
Please send your resume and impassioned cover letter to jobs@buyblue.org.
