My Story: I was raised by ultraconservative evangelical Christians. It started to dawn on me as a kid that maybe the worship of power and the American Dream wasn't what Jesus had in mind...long story short, I'm now a halfassed Buddhist who would rather err on the side of the bleeding hearts. I became an activist after 2000, when we entered 1984.
