My Story: I am an active, semi- retired person who was born and raised in the South when segregation was in full swing. When I rode the bus to the movies with my brother (I was age 9), I would go and sit in the back of the bus with the "coloreds" (the PC term for the time!), because I somehow knew that it was wrong that they had to sit or stand there, when there were plenty of seats at the front. My parents were, what one might call,"tolerant" racists. I didn't like the way they thought in that regard. So, I believe liberalism and progressivism is somehow in our blood. I live reasonably comfortably, but cannot tolerate that so many others have not been as lucky as I. I am "my brother's keeper." And, I am appalled that our current state of affairs in government is that money equals power, and further, that "separation of church and state" has become so blurred. I would be for eliminating tax exemption for all religious organizations, period!
